Analysis: 3 Unit Play. #268 Take Arizona over Houston (Saturday 8 pm KTRK) Everybody thought Kurt Warner was god in Arizona but let’s look at the whole picture. The Cardinals played in a terrible division the last two years and had far superior talent than the other three teams. I believe Matt Leinart is more than capable of having similar success this season and expect him to make a statement during the preseason because Coach Ken Whisenhunt has yet to give him a vote of confidence. It is important for Leinart to play well this evening since it is a home game and expect him to come through during limited action. His back-up is Derek Anderson and he also feels he has a chance to win the starting job and it is important game for him. Houston has Matt Schaub and not much after that with Dan Orlovsky and John David Booty yet to impress anybody. Arizona dominates this game from start to finish and we collect big in the process as well.

I'm playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. Will "Big Ben" play or won't he? That's been the most frequently asked question this week in Steeler-camp. Sources say Ben has had his best camp since arriving in the NFL. Personally, I don't care if he plays or not. The Steelers do need to get Byron Leftwich some reps with the first-teamers since he will be the starting QB when the regular season starts. And even if their "true" #1 signal caller never takes a snap on Saturday, the Steelers own a strong QB rotation for preseason purposes. And they have different styles for a young defense to have to adjust to, especially when Dennis Dixon steps under center. That young Lion defense is extremely banged-up right now. While banged-up starters don't matter much in the preseason, battered and bruised second and third teamers do matter...and that's the case for the Lions. The secondary's depth will really be tested thanks to injuries suffered in camp. HC Jim Schwartz will start Matthew Stafford. He probably won't play more than the first quarter, according to reports. The QB depth chart includes Shaun Hill and Drew Stanton. But I believe it's the Detroit defense that's going to have their problems in this one. Mike Tomlin wins preseason games, now on a 10-3 SU run. And this line is reasonable. I suspect Tomlin is going to want to get his first two offensive strings on the same page and will take some chances downfield, having to find a consistent replacement for Santonio Holmes. Look for the Steelers to do what they have normally done, even in preseason, and win on Saturday. I'm laying the short number with Pittsburgh. Thanks!
