Hornets vs HawksThe Hornets got a heartbreaking loss last night, when they failed against the Wizards in a double overtime game. It marks their 3rd loss in a row and leaves them 2 wins behind the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. Everything is still possible, but it does not look good at the moment especially if you consider that their main go-to-guy Al Jefferson is playing through a sore knee. That soreness is likely hurt even more in a back-to-back situation and after logging in more than 40 minutes. The Hornets starter Michael Kidd-Gilchrist left the game with an ankle injury making the list of available players for tonight even shorter.
The Hawks struggled when Kyle Korver was dealing with broken nose and missed 3 games, but they have bounced back nicely. In last couple of games their performance has been as good as it was prior to Korver`s injury. The Hawks will have to play back-to-back as well, but they had a nice easy game against the Heat and starters played around 30 minutes.
It is possible that the Hawks will rest some of their starters in a back-to-back situation, but even then they just have enough depth in their lineup to deal with the Hornets, that have to play after wasting a lot of energy for nothing last night. The Hawks overall quality and team chemistry is couple of levels above the Hornets, so they should have no problems winning this game. Take the Hawks to cover -2.5 points @1.952 from Pinnacle with 2/5 units.
